The Walt Disney Family Museum is pleased to announce its second annual fundraising gala benefiting the Museum’s ongoing initiatives to support the next generation of creative talent. The event will honor Marty Sklar and will include Master of Ceremonies Neil Patrick Harris.

This never-before-seen exhibition allows visitors to discover the artistic process and step behind-the-scenes to explore how one of the most influential animated films in history was produced: Walt Disney’s 1940 feature-length masterpiece Pinocchio.

Explore the first-ever retrospective of Mel Shaw, an artist, storyteller, and Disney Legend, whose artwork influenced some of the most significant animated films of all time, from Fantasia (1940) to The Lion King (1994). Shaw’s own life story was as romantic and adventuresome as the animated stories he helped bring to life.

Guest-curated by Academy Award®-winning director, writer, and producer BRAD BIRD, this engaging multimedia exhibition showcases Walt Disney as a technological innovator, science fiction storyteller, and futurologist by spotlighting his vision of Disneyland’s groundbreaking Tomorrowland.
