Chandigarh: Hard work and self-discipline are a must for success in any sphere of life, says fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuriya, with whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi teamed up for a cleanliness exercise.

Modi had Sunday teamed up with Baiyanpuriya in a cleanliness exercise as part of his call to the public to undertake sanitation measures for an hour on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary.

“Today, as the nation focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond just cleanliness, we blended fitness and well-being also into the mix. It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe,” Modi had posted on X Sunday along with a video.

The video showed the prime minister and Baiyanpuriya wielding brooms and cleaning and picking up trash.

Raised by labourer parents in Sonipat, Baiyanpuriya, a graduate, is a fitness enthusiast since his childhood.

The 25-year-old has over five million followers on Instagram and a huge following on YouTube where he regularly posts his workout videos, greeting his followers often saying “Ram Ram Bhai Sareya Ne.”

During his interaction with the media in the national capital after Sunday’ event, Baiyanpuriya said he had a longstanding wish to meet the prime minister for a long time.

“I could not believe it when I got a phone call a few days ago about the event. Even when I was in Delhi, I could not believe that I would be meeting the Prime Minister. I told my parents about the meeting only after it happened,” he said.

“The Prime Minister also asked me about my daily routine, for how many hours I workout. He spoke very nicely. He came across as a very simple person. Our Prime Minister is an icon for millions of youths like me,” said Baiyanpuriya, who spent nearly 40 minutes together with Modi.

Baiyanpuriya, who has two elder sisters, had started his fitness career with wrestling in a village ‘akhara’ and fell into a spell of melancholia after suffering injuries during some bouts.

“During the rest and recovery period, you are shaken and negative thoughts come to your mind… I had been given the Bhagavad Gita and reading it benefitted me a lot and helped me stay mentally strong,” he recalled.

Baiyanpuriya has been doing small-time jobs for the past few years.

Back home in Sonipat, his mother was elated having seen her son teaming up with the PM in the cleanliness exercise.

“Every parent should be blessed with such hard-working children. He has always believed in leading a simple life. Since childhood he has been taking simple food,” she said.

Mumbai: Superstar Hrithik Roshan gave a major shout out to his girlfriend Saba Azad for her performance in the web series ‘Who’s Your Gynac?’, calling her ‘amazing’, and said she should be proud of this one.

“Who’s Your Gynac?” is the story that revolves around the life of the lead character of Dr Vidushi played by Saba, and the challenges that life throws at her as a new practising gynaecologist.

The show breaks down the journey of a fresher OB-GYN, who is trying to strike a balance both professionally and personally.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Hrithik supported her ladylove and shared a collage, which has pictures of Saba, and other star cast.

Mumbai: Superstar Akshay Kumar Monday announced his new feature film, Sky Force, which will chronicle the “untold true story of India’s first and deadliest air strike”.

The 56-year-old actor took to X and shared an announcement teaser of the movie on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, revered freedom fighters and stalwarts of India, both of whom were born October 2.

“Today, on the day of Gandhi-Shastri Jayanti, the whole country is saying – ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan’. No better day than today to announce the incredible story of #SkyForce : Our untold story of India’s first and deadliest airstrike. Give it love, please. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat,” Kumar wrote on the microblogging site.

Sky Force will present the “untold true story that captures the bravery, the emotion, the patriotism of all those men in uniform involved in India’s first and deadliest airstrike at a time against Pakistan, against all odds”, the makers said in a press note.

The film, backed by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, will be released in theatres October 2, 2024.

Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur will co-direct the project, which will also mark the acting debut of Veer Pahariya.

Filmmaker Amar Kaushik, known for movies Stree, Bala and Bhediya, will serve as creative producer on the film.

Mumbai: Tejas, headlined by Kangana Ranaut, is set to be released in theatres October 27,  the makers announced Monday.

The movie, written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara, features Ranaut in the role of an Indian Air Force pilot.

Production house RSVP Movies shared the release date and teaser of the film on its official page on X.

According to the makers, Tejas revolves around Ranaut’s Tejas Gill, who aims “to instil a deep sense of pride in the valiant soldiers who tirelessly defend our nation, confronting numerous challenges along the way”.

The film was previously scheduled to arrive in cinemas October 20.

Mumbai: Pakistani star Mahira Khan, who starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the 2017 Indian film Raees, has tied the knot with her long-time businessman boyfriend Salim Karim.

Mahira got married over the weekend and this is her second marriage. It was in 2007, when she got married to her first husband Ali Askari. However, the two parted ways in 2015. They share a 13-year-old son, Azlan.

A video shared by Mahira’s manager Maliha Rehman, shows the actress in a stunning ivory pastel lehenga. She is seen in a veil with a long train. As she reaches her groom, who looks very emotional, he lifts it up and looks at her to-be wife with lots of love and hugged her.

Mumbai: The trailer of upcoming heist action thriller film ‘Ghost’, starring Dr Shiva Rajkumar in the lead was unveiled on Sunday, and it surely promises an action-packed true-blue mass entertainer.

The 2 minute 18 second trailer began with a remembrance message to Dr Puneeth Rajkumar.

It said: “You live in our hearts forever”. We then see a man fighting the goons, police officials and prisoners. The man is Shiva Rajkumar, who is introduced as “Ghost”. The trailer shows him holding a gun, and giving all rowdy vibes. The video shows a glimpse of veteran actor Anupam Kher in a suited look.

The thriller tells the story of a man’s quest for justice. Lapped with strong dialogues and great action, ‘Ghost’ is here to shake up the system.

The upcoming Pan-India film ‘Ghost’ has been making buzz in all corners of the country. Especially after it was announced that the film’s Hindi version will mark Jayantilal Gada-led Pen Movies’ first Kannada film acquisition, the film has emerged as a highly anticipated one.

Now, with the action-packed trailer released the excitement has only piqued up. It is not just the trailer’s release, but also the South Superstars who released it that made it all the more special. While the Ghost’s Hindi version was released by Pen Movies, Dhanush launched the trailer for the Tamil version.

The Telugu version was released by SS Rajamouli, and the Malayalam one was unveiled by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Dr Shiva Rajkumar who stars in the film dropped its Kannada version.

Anupam Kher, who is a part of the film said: “In my such long journey, it’s the first time I have goosebumps. I was very thrilled to be a part of Ghost and I am assertive that people will love it.”

Shiva Rajkumar added: “The love fans have given to me, makes me feel blessed. Ghost is like my payback for all the love the audience showered on me. Here’s to many more amazing films.”

The flick also stars Jayaram, Prashant Narayanan, Archana Jois, Satya Prakash and M G Srinivas.

The film is directed by Srini. It is the second instalment of the ‘Birbal’ trilogy. It is all set to release in cinemas on October 19 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Bengaluru: Film actor Nagabhushan S S has been arrested, as a speeding car allegedly driven by him rammed into a couple, killing a 48-year-old woman, and critically injuring her 58-year-old husband, police said Sunday.

The incident occurred at Vasanthapura Main Road here on the night of September 30. According to the police, Prema S and Krishna B were walking on the footpath, when the accused, driving his car from Uttarahalli towards Konanakunte Cross, allegedly knocked them down, before crashing into an electric pole. They said he was driving the car in a “rash and negligent” manner.

The severely injured couple were rushed to a private hospital. While the woman succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital, her husband is undergoing treatment.

The incident took place at Kumaraswamy layout traffic police limits here. Officials rushed to the spot and arrested Nagabhushan. The actor has featured in several movies, especially in comic roles. Police said a case has been registered and the car has been seized for further investigation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic, South) Shiva Prakash Devaraju later said Nagabhushan has been let out on a station bail after executing a bond, and he will be called for further statements and investigation.

Nagabhushan has been booked under 304A (Causing death by negligence) and 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and his blood samples have been sent for alcohol testing.

Mumbai: Hindi movie actor Rajkummar Rao Sunday led the cleanliness drive at Mangrove forest, which was organised in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Sath’.

In a display of commitment to environment conservation, Rajkummar participated in the cleanup, along with Maharashtra Income Tax department.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Rajkummar shared a happy picture with the environmental enthusiasts, and officials. They are wearing a matching white T-shirt, and holding garbage bag in their hands.

The actor captioned the post as: “It was such a gratifying experience to clean the mangrove forest at Airoli Creek this morning along with the @incometax.mumbai.gov.in #SwachhataHiSeva @narendramodi ji @my_bmc.”

Earlier, Rajkummar was also spotted at the biggest clean-up drive at Juhu Beach, post Ganpati Visarjan.

Talking about the same, Rajkummar had said: “We all love Ganpati, and hence we have come here. We are citizens of India.”

Indian cinema boasts a rich and storied history, with one of its most treasured facets being its musical heritage. Hindi cinema, in particular, has given birth to timeless classics that continue to captivate global audiences.

The tunes from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s serve as time capsules, preserving the enchantment of an era when music transcended being mere background noise; it played a character in the narrative. Composed by legendary figures such as RD Burman, Lata Mangeshkar, and Kishore Kumar, these songs have etched their melodies and lyrics deep into the hearts of millions, embodying emotions, love, and storytelling.

However, in recent times, there is a blind craze for remixes. Music albums now feature remix versions of practically every song, oblivious to the song’s core and vibe. So much so that popular composers and DJs like Amaal Mallik, Tanishk Bagchi, DJ Chetas, and many others have taken up the challenge of rejuvenating these classical songs.

Some people, however, claim the practice takes away the essence of an original song while others feel remixed songs make dull and boring tunes melodious. With remix music gaining traction among the youths, Sunday POST discussed the issue with some experts and here’s what they had to share.

‘Classic songs should be left alone’

Popular singer Abhijeet Mishra, who has several Odia and Hindi albums to his credit, seemed not too excited about the growing trend of remixes. He said, “I don’t support this practice because the original singer and songwriter, of the classics in particular, spend a considerable amount of time creating something exceptional. Therefore, in my opinion, certain melodies or songs should remain untouched and are best left as they are.”

Moreover, there are instances when young singers get misled by the remix songs.

Sharing one such anecdote, he narrated, “This incident happened when I was once a part of pre-Indian Idol auditions in Delhi. After hearing Lata Ji’s immortal song Lag Jaa Gale from a young girl, I casually asked her ‘Do you know who the original singer was?’ ‘Sanam Puri’ the aspirant promptly responded, making me speechless for a while. This was an impact of remix and recreation.”

Puri just recreated the iconic song of Lata Mangeshkar and was not the original singer.

“So, I am always for original songs and creating something from thin air is what I love. And I think classic songs should be left out.”

Some musicians believe that remixing old songs can introduce the younger generation to classic music. But Abhijeet doesn’t agree. “I believe that classic songs have an inherent timeless quality, and attempting to recreate their essence is a challenging task. Even if you use the same artist or recording, you can never truly replicate the original vibe. Some things are simply beautiful when left in their original form. These songs had a dedicated fan-base in the past, they still maintain that following today, and will continue to do so in the future. I don’t believe that remixes necessarily bring the younger generation closer to classical music,” argued the singer.

However, Abhijeet is not totally against the trend of remix as he has grown up listening to a few remix artistes.

“One of them was the Bombay Vikings. Neeraj Shridhar tastefully arranged the classic songs and incorporated some English touches, which I found appealing. This remix still holds a special place as my favourite,” recalled Mishra.

Asked on how to strike a balance between preserving the original essence and giving innovative touch in a remix, he shared, “I believe the key to this lies in your personal musical sensibility. When a composer decides to work on a classic song, he or she should approach it with a great deal of seriousness. Such songs have already earned their status as classics and have been embraced by audiences; they are likely to continue to be appreciated even after undergoing transformations in the future. Therefore, it is the musician’s duty to ensure that the song’s essence is not tampered. A song’s aesthetic must be grasped before making any alterations.”

He further said, “When legends create music for a movie or a standalone track, they incorporate specific rhythms and melodies into the song. It’s important for us to honour their creative process and immerse ourselves in the same mindset they had during composition.”

‘Let’s not distort the cult classics’

The remake of old songs has both positive and negative impacts on the music industry, said eminent music director Prasant Padhi.

“To begin with, I want to emphasise the adverse aspects. When a newly recreated song gains popularity among the audience, it tends to overshadow the original compositions. The artists or composers responsible for the remake often alter the essence of the classic piece, introducing twists or modifying the entire melody, which can dilute the song’s originality and turn it into a mere gimmick,” pointed out Padhi.

Substantiating the view of singer Abhijeet Mishra, the music director continued: “Some songs, such as Hrudayara ei sunyata ku and mu je eka pagala bhanra, have unfortunately lost their essence due to attempts at recreating them with different melodies. With various new singers taking on these songs, the original vocalists have faded from memory, making it difficult for the younger generation to identify the original renditions.”

Padhi believes that the singers of original songs are the ones most impacted by the new reinterpretations.

Elaborating further, he said, “Jitendra Haripal and Krishna Patel’s Rangabati is considered a cult classic. However, with new singers mixing and singing it differently, the original singers have been affected. If we add English phrases, rap elements, and new instruments to the songs, it will surely bring disruption.”

On the positives, Padhi said, “Recreation of songs, particularly those hidden gems that have been lost or little heard, brings about positive outcomes. It ensures that these songs are not forgotten and allows people to enjoy them.”

‘Music’s essence lies in staying true to artistic integrity’

Renowned lyricist and poet Mohit Chakraborty has a different take on the issue.

“In my opinion, the music industry isn’t primarily focused on remaking or remixing old songs. Instead, today’s young generation of musicians and composers are dedicated to creating original compositions rather than rehashing older material. I believe that only a small fraction, around two per cent of old songs undergo remakes, while the majority remains untouched,” according to Chakraborty.

He adds, “Many soulful songs were created in the past which have not been remixed. They are still intact and left untouched. The new composers nowadays are making new songs and not copying or remaking out of old songs. But yes, more Hindi songs are being twisted and recreated these days.”

When asked how he views the remixing of old songs, no matter the language, the winner of several state film awards said, “Some dull songs are given new touches and they now sound good. But at the same time, I don’t like the representation of the classic songs which have their distinct fan following.”

Concluding the conversation, he added, “Aspiring musicians and composers need to recognise that music’s essence lies in creating something extraordinary and distinctive for the audience while staying true to their artistic integrity and not straying from the original context.”

‘Remixes often help increase the shelf life of the original songs’

Ipsita Mohanty, a Pune based singer, said, “Music is to the soul what words are to the mind. I, being an old soul, would love to close my eyes, relax and vibe to a 70s song on a lazy Sunday afternoon. But while I am in the mood enjoying my best and admiring the beauty of the lyrics and music, if a remix song pops up next , my thoughts would be divided and I would land up in a dilemma.”

She adds, “Today’s music industry loves to rehash raging hits and iconic songs from the past. While some attempts have clicked, many have failed to impress music lovers. While the original songs had their own fan base, the remixes were equally popular for their unique beats and freshness and made it to birthday parties and school farewells.

Songs like Kala Chasma, Dum Maro Dum, Humma Humma have surely worked their magic and helped increase the shelf life and recall value of the original songs. These songs were well received by the audience as the composers had added a modern electronic twist to the songs without tampering with the essence of the original compositions.”

She further said, “Legendary singer late Lata Mangeshkar had earlier expressed in a blog, ‘There is nothing objectionable about mixing old songs… it is perfectly alright to present a song in a new way until the actual essence is preserved. But to twist a song out of shape is just wrong.”

“I completely support the idea of remixing a song whilst keeping its originality. Taking away its origin is like taking away its identity. And what’s an entity without an identity?” asked Mohanty.

She signed off by saying, “I have been fortunate enough to have sung many original bhajans and romantic numbers. Having said that, I have also made several cover songs of old beautiful numbers. But I always keep in mind not to tamper with the root emotion. After all, music is all about emotions and emotions need to be kept pure and untouched. Beautifications can be done in the sides. Maintaining the right balance is very important.”

Hina has made a comeback as a challenger in ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ season 13.

The stunt-based reality show is raising the fear factor to a whole new level with every passing week.

The action maestro and host of the show, Rohit Shetty, continues to test the courage of daredevil contestants with never-seen-before stunts in the wilderness of Cape Town, South Africa.

The fearless challenger Hina shared her experience on returning to the show.

On how she has grown as a person since her appearance as a finalist on ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 8’, the actress said: “I’ve become more adventurous in every sense, not just in facing physical trials but also in embracing the unpredictability of life itself. I’ve learned to welcome new challenges, both in the real world and on the reel, with open arms.”

“This newfound sense of fearlessness has opened up a world of opportunities and adventures that I once hesitated a little to explore. More than anything, this journey has been a catalyst for personal growth. This show was a life-changing experience that transformed me from the inside out. It was like a transformational notion that helped me conquer fears that had been holding me back my whole life. That realisation was truly a game-changer for me during my season, and I’ve continued to grow from there.”

“The ‘Sher Khan’ label came in front strongly during ‘Bigg Boss’, and it’s still serving me today, helping me spot the hidden power within me every time I go up against a challenge. Let’s be real, these past couple years have been a wild ride for everyone. So, I think each one of us should tap into that inner tigress or tiger, no matter what you choose to call it,” she said.

How did your approach to pulling off stunts differ as a challenger? 

Hina said as a challenger on ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi,’ her approach to pulling off stunts was a bit different compared to when she was a contestant.

“As a challenger, there was a responsibility to bring a new level of energy and set a benchmark for the performance of a stunt. I hoped my growth from a daredevil to a challenger would be seen in this edition. I was more focused, strategic, and fearless. I was willing to take on bigger risks and push my limits even further,” said the ‘Hacked’ actress.

Sharing behind-the-scenes moments from this season, Hina commented: “On a personal level, or rather an individual one, I believe that the exhilaration truly kicks in the moment I strap on the harness or while they’re briefing me about the stunt. I am in love with ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, and would happily participate every year if I could.”

“This experience significantly enhances my self-belief, and I crave it. Then with everyone else the most memorable part is getting to witness the friendships among these contestants. We laughed at each other and with each other, we ate our meals together making it worth the time we spent together,” she said.

Hina further said that overcoming her fear of heights makes her feel invincible. “It’s a thrill that’s hard to put into words.”

She concluded, saying that reuniting with Rohit Shetty after five years was truly thrilling. “He’s not just a host but also a mentor and a constant source of motivation. Mumbai: Actress Disha Patani has remembered late actor Sushant Singh Rajput as their film ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ clocked seven years in Hindi cinema.

Released September 30, 2016, ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ is a biographical sports drama film directed by Neeraj Pandey.

It is based on the life of star cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film stars the late Sushant as MS Dhoni, along with Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, and Anupam Kher.

The film revolves around the life of Dhoni from a young age through a series of life events.

Disha took to Instagram Saturday evening, where she posted a clip from the film and wrote: “Grateful for this beautiful journey and my first film in Hindi cinema. Love wholeheartedly and cherish the ones who make you happy safe and heard life’s too short for regrets! We couldn’t say goodbye but I hope you’re happy and at peace.”

The film marked Disha’s debut in Hindi cinema after which she starred in a slew of movies such as ‘Kung Fu Yoga’, ‘Malang’, ‘Baaghi 2 and 3’, ‘Radhe’ and ’Ek Villain Returns’.

Disha will next be seen in ‘Yodha’, ‘Kanguva’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.

Mumbai: Popular singer Mika Singh, who recently dropped a tweet on actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s picture with English movie star Jean-Claude Van Damme, has deleted the comment as he wrote that the action legend was better than alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Moments after posting the tweet on X (formerly Twitter), Mika deleted the comment as he was receiving mixed reactions on the social media platform.

It was Friday, when Jacqueline posted a photo of herself posing with Jean-Claude Van Damme on X and Instagram.

The actress had captioned it: “Having fun in Italy. Take a guess #vacation #fashion #fun.”

The tweet on Jacqueline and Van Damme has been deleted but now has surfaced on Reddit.

The tweet from Mika reads: “You are looking so beautiful… he is much better than Sukesh.”

“Mika got no chill!,” captioned a reddit user.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar was reportedly dating Jacqueline and is now in Tihar Jail in connection with over Rs 200 crore extortion case.

Mumbai: Director-producer Sooraj Barjatya, who is known for films such as ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’, ‘Uunchai’, ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ and ‘Hum Saath – Saath Hain’, is set to grace the singing reality show, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’.

During the course of the episode, Sooraj shared an anecdote about the song ‘Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai’ in which Bollywood superstar Salman Khan teases Madhuri Dixit in the iconic film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’

This weekend, the ‘Shaadi Special’ episode features Sooraj Barjatya, his son Avnish Barjatya, and the cast of the upcoming film ‘Dono’- Rajveer Deol, and Paloma Dhillon’ as special guests.

Contestants Rik Basu and Sneha Bhattacharya’s duet performance to the songs ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar Hai’ and ‘Aaja Shaam Hone Aaee’ mesmerises everyone.

After listening to their performance, Sooraj Barjatya shares an interesting anecdote from the time when he directed the song ‘Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai’ with Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit.

“Both of you displayed exceptional singing skills, but I must acknowledge, Rik, I had heard a lot about you. Witnessing the genuine love you portrayed, which is often perceived as scripted in movies, brought immense joy.

“You demonstrated that true and intense love exists in real life too. It was heartwarming to see, and I truly believe you are destined for great success.

“When I listened to your rendition of ‘Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai’, it transported me back to the time when we originally recorded it,” he said.

“Each verse was crafted separately, and I distinctly remember when the chorus – ‘tu hi meri zindagi, tu hi meri bandagi’ – was introduced. Everyone admired it, but I remained silent. My concern was that my hero, Salman, wasn’t yet mature and experienced enough in love to reach the ‘zindagi bandagi’ phase. I believed he should at least find a girl first. While others thought it was poetic and beautiful, I didn’t want mere poetry; I wanted authenticity,” he said.

He said that he explained in the scene, the characters were playfully teasing each other, but some believed it was true love. That’s when his father, Raj Kumar Barjatya suggested that he should have everyone hear the script.

He further mentions, “I believe we don’t create hit songs, but rather hit situations. When the situation is right, the song becomes a hit. Therefore, the success depends on the context and situation of the film. I shared the script with everyone, and when we reached the part of the song’s situation, Dev Kohli ji understood”.

“He focused on how the couple was trying to conceal their love, leading to the line, ‘jaan ke bhi anjana, kaisa mera yar hai, pehla pehla pyar hai, pehli pehli bar hai’. We put in a lot of effort, and the result was a beautiful song that captured everyone’s hearts,” he concludes.

Mumbai: As the business reality television series ‘Shark Tank India’ returns with its third season, a new shark has been added to the panel.

Ritesh Agarwal, who is the Founder and CEO of OYO Rooms.

OYO is an Indian multinational hospitality chain of leased and franchised hotels.

With the new addition, Ritesh has become the youngest shark on the panel which already comprises Aman Gupta, Amit Jain, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh and Peyush Bansal.

Recently, the cameras started rolling on the third season of the show as the stand-up comedian Rahul Dua reprised his duties as the show host with sharks judging the entrepreneurial instincts of the contestants.

The show provides a platform for business aspirants to chase their entrepreneurial dreams with their business ideas to experienced investors and business experts who are referred to as ‘The Sharks’.

It is the Indian franchise of the American show ‘Shark Tank’, and shows entrepreneurs making business presentations to a panel of investors or sharks, who decide whether to invest in their company.

The first season of the show aired on Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment Television from December 20, 2021 to February 4, 2022, and became a huge talking point owing to the memes that were created based on investor and then shark Ashneer Grover’s quirky one liners.

The actress shared a glimpse of her weekend with her two children — Jai and Gia.

Recently, the Lakshya actress took her kids to the beach.

Sharing pictures of her outing, it seems Preity was having an even more enjoyable time than her kids.

A doting mother, the actress held her kids, played with them on the hot sands of the beach, and even helped them build a sand castle while the waters were swirling on to the coast.

Mumbai: A new picture from the wedding festivities of actress Parineeti Chopra and AAP leader Raghav Chadha has surfaced on social media.

The picture is from the haldi ceremony and it shows Parineeti smiling with all her heart with Raghav Chadha sitting by her side.

In the picture, the actress can be seen wearing a bright pink dress with a white headband and golden chandelier earrings.

Raghav is in a white kurta pyjama that has been covered in haldi. They are sitting under a canopy of flowers, surrounded by their friends and family.

The couple, which earlier got engaged in Delhi in May, flew to Delhi from their wedding destination Udaipur on Monday. The couple’s pre-wedding festivities began with an ardas ceremony in Delhi, which was followed by a Sufi night with only close friends and family members in attendance.

They flew down to Udaipur, where a mehendi ceremony was held, followed by haldi and a Bollywood sangeet. The wedding and reception took place on Sunday.

Many notable personalities attended the grand union of the actresses and the politician including the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, celebrity couturier Manish Malhotra and others.

Earlier, on Friday, Parineeti shared a special clip on her social media from her wedding ceremony.

San Francisco: Streaming giant Netflix has ended its subscriber-based DVD rental service after mailing its final DVD rentals September 29.

“Netflix will mail its final DVD September 29, 2023. But the red envelope remains an enduring symbol of our love of entertainment,” Netflix wrote X Friday.

In April, the streaming giant announced to shut down its DVD rental business on September 29, saying the declining demand for physical rentals is making it “increasingly difficult” to provide the desired level of service.

Since shipping its first disc (Beetlejuice) in 1998, the company has shipped 5.2 billion films in those red envelopes to over 40 million customers, according to Engadget.

In 2007, Netflix introduced streaming on-demand, which quickly grew to become the company’s most popular offering by 2009.

The rest is history, as Netflix gradually expanded to create its own streaming content and now has over 238 million subscribers.

While this is the end of an era, there is one silver lining.

In August, Netflix announced that anyone who still has a rental disc will be able to keep it and that they can even request up to 10 more films to help the company clear out its stock.

“We are not charging for any unreturned discs after 9/29. Please enjoy your final shipments for as long as you like!,” Netflix said.

Meanwhile, Netflix added 5.9 million subscribers globally in the second quarter (Q2), with the US and Canada making up 1.17 million new members in the April-June period.

In May, the company launched paid sharing in more than 100 countries, representing more than 80 per cent of its revenue base.

Mumbai: Seems like actor Kartik Aaryan wanted to “chill” after the wrap-up of his upcoming movie Chandu Champion in Kashmir as he was seen taking a dip in an icy river.

Kartik took to Instagram, where he shared a video of himself taking an ice bath.

In the clip, Kartik was seen shirtless, taking a freezing ice bath for the first time in the river with a picturesque background.

Ice bath or cryotherapy, is also known as cold therapy. It may be used to treat a variety of tissue lesions.

Cryosurgery is the application of extremely low temperatures to destroy abnormal or diseased tissue and is used most commonly to treat skin conditions.

Cryotherapy is used in an effort to relieve muscle pain, sprains and swelling after soft tissue damage or surgery. For decades, it has been commonly used to accelerate recovery in athletes after exercise. Cryotherapy decreases the temperature of tissue surface to minimise hypoxic cell death, edema accumulation, and muscle spasms, all of which ultimately alleviate discomfort and inflammation.

On the work front, Kartik was seen in Satyaprem Ki Kath. He will next be seen in the Kabir Khan directorial, Chandu Champion along with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Mumbai: Actor Vishal, who predominantly works in Tamil cinema, had earlier called out the Central Board of Film Certification in India (CBFC) as he accused them of asking for a bribe to grant the certificate for the Hindi release of his film Mark Antony. Now, after the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) assured him of swift action, the actor thanked the ministry on social media.

The I&B ministry initiated a probe into the claims made by the actor after he alleged that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) office in Mumbai demanded a bribe of Rs 6.5 lakh for the certification of the Hindi dubbed version of ‘Mark Antony’.

On Saturday, Vishal took to his X (formerly Twitter), and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the I&B ministry, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The actor wrote on his X: “I sincerely thank @MIB_India for taking immediate steps on this important matter pertaining to corruption issue in #CBFC Mumbai. Thank you very much for the necessary action taken and definitely hoping for this to be an example for every government official who intends to or is part of corruption and to take the honest route to serve the nation and not the steps of corruption.”

Vishal further mentioned: “I once again thank my Prime Minister @narendramodi and Maharashtra CM @mieknathshinde and everyone involved in bringing out this initiative immediately. It brings a sense of satisfaction to a common man like me and others that justice will be served to people who are victims of corruption, Jai-Hind.”
